# Lite Accounts

TIP

Lite accounts are used when;

  • A person is sending or receiving files
  • Only a few files are being sent, or the transfer is one off

WARNING

All transfers using lite accounts are reverse charged to the Nimbus instance that "owns" the lite account. This means that if a customer sends you data, or recieves data from you, your account will be charged for the transfer.

# Creating a lite account

  1. Log in to Nimbus

  2. Click on Lite Accounts on the left hand menu

  3. Click Add Account

  4. Enter the email address for your customer

  5. Select a Transfer Limit, appropriate for the volume of transfer that this customer will be doing

  6. Enter a message (optional) if you would like to provide additional information to your customer, when they log in

  7. Click Save Changes

# Notifying your customer

  1. Log in to Nimbus

  2. Click on Lite Accounts on the left hand menu

  3. Locate the PIN number for the customers email address in the table

  4. Click the Client Details button at the top of the screen

  5. Copy the hyperlink at the bottom of the popup window (it will end with .exe)

  6. Send the email address, PIN number and hyperlink to your customer. We would strongly reccomend that you send the PIN number via SMS if you are sending files to your customer.

As a template email, you can use the below;

Dear <Customer Name>,

Our organisation uses Nimbus Secure Data Transfer to ensure that data that
is exchanged with our organisation is transfered securely. An account has
been created for you to send and receive data to us.

To get started;

1. Click the link below to download Nimbus Superlite

2. Run the downloaded file

3. When prompted, enter your email address and the PIN number below
<PIN Number>

4. Click Next

5. Follow the onscreen instructions to send or receive data as required.

# Sending a file to your customer

TIP

Use these steps when you want to send a file from yourself, to your customer.

# Via the Lite Accounts screen

  1. Log in to Nimbus

  2. Click on Lite Accounts on the left hand menu

  3. Locate the customers account in the table

  4. Click the aeroplane icon

  5. Click Browse\Choose Files and select the file you want to send

  6. Click Send

  7. Click OK on the confirmation message, advising your file has been uploaded and queued

  8. The customer can now log in to Nimbus Superlite to collect the file

# Via the folder drop method

WARNING

Only ever place a COPY of a file in the outbound folders. These files are DELETED from your computer on a successful transfer.

  1. Navigate to the Nimbus outbound directory

  2. Locate the folder for your customers email address

  3. Paste the file into this folder

  4. The customer can now log in to Nimbus Superlite to collect the file

# Receiving a file from your customer

TIP

Use these steps when your customer has sent a file to you, through a lite account.

# Extending account expiry

TIP

Lite accounts expire after a fixed period of time to prevent unwanted transfers. You can extend an accounts exipry before or after the account has expired

  1. Log in to Nimbus

  2. Click on Lite Accounts on the left hand menu

  3. Locate the customers account in the table

  4. If the customers expiry date/time is expired or about to expire, click the clock icon

  5. A popup window will appear confirming the new expiry time, click OK to close
